How to Prepare

At LL&L consignment is a team effort between the consignor and LL&L staff. By working together, we will ensure that your children's cherished clothes will find new, loving homes.
We recommend preparing your items before your drop off day! Please check your consignment pile for stains, holes, wear or damage. Make sure your items are "in-season" and have not been recalled*.

  1. Spend a few minutes with an iron or a bit of cleaner. It will make your items much more appealing to buyers.
  2. Do a quality check - are all buttons secure? Fasteners working? Seams still sturdy? Elastic still strong? Make sure all items are ready to sell.
  3. Use a good light to examine items for stains, discoloration or fading. Please be aware LL&L cannot accept items with stains.
  4. Check that items are complete. Forgetting a crucial accessory will decrease value. LL&L store policy prohibits quick drop-offs for forgotten items after your initial appointment.
  5. Help LL&L staff process your items quickly by grouping sets together (but please, don't use pins).
  6. Have pride in your children's clothes and items. Bring them to your appointment neatly in boxes or bins if you can. While trash or shopping bags are acceptable, keep in mind that how you present your items to us is important. Since we at LL&L will see your items first, think of us as your "first customers." Messy, wrinkled, musty items will not be accepted.
Remember, for sizes 2T/24 months and under, we take your best 60 current and most fashionable items. If any items come as a set, they count as 1 item and have a tendency to sell better.

*Recalls - We take recalls seriously and ask that you check your items against the US Consumer Product Safety Commission's website: before bringing them in. Due to recalls and safety issues, we DO NOT accept cribs or car seats. We try our best not to carry recalled items. However, if you discover we missed something, please bring it to our attention immediately. This helps us to make sure we only carry safe products.
